Description

The first of a few nice close up flower shots I did during a recent weekend excursion to Kootenai Lake. I had a blast using the zoom lense to get in close. I'm a newbie for sure!

Taken with a Minolta 7k and slightly color balanced in Photoshop.

I agree with diana, i bit more contrast, to highlight the tulips would be nice. The background seems a bit disturbing. I believe this is mostly because most of the light is on the leaves, instead of on the flowers, where the main focus point should be.. If i'm not mistaking

It's a step in the right direction for sure, though.. keep it up, you got a whole summer to practice

I had a big critique but I messed it all up, so I will just say what the rest have said the greens lack contrasts, and the red flowers lack detail, reds are hard to photograph. Good solid dof, and composition I think nicely done.

I'm having trouble figuring out whether that was in the original photo or if it was from the scan. It seems like I'm getting extra blue tones when I scan, and an overal desaturation of the image, so I have to go back into PS to bump some things up again.
